Use 11 Days of Annual Leave for 36 Days Off in 2022

I started this planning practice back a few years ago, and it’s a great way to get a headstart on yearly leave plans. Even though I’ll be on maternity leave for almost all of 2022, it’s still helpful to get an advanced view of what will come up for the rest of the year, and help others to plan for their own leave requests.

This year, assuming you’re in NSW Australia, and your company doesn’t provide any further leave perks, then you’ll be able to get 36 days off (including weekends) just by requesting for 11 days of annual leave! That’s a pretty good result, even if it doesn’t beat the massive leave for 2020 (How to Get 53 Days Off in 2020)!

As usual, January, April and December are your biggest months to take a break, with the other months of the year looking a little forlorn. But there’s nothing stopping you from tacking on additional leave into those spaces. For most of us who have been cooped up with Covid-19 restrictions for the last two years, this would be a great time to use up those extra annual leave days that have no doubt accrued!
